بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
26 Safar 1444/23 September 2022
All praise is due to Allah, the Cherisher, Sustainer, Nourisher and Provider of the entire creation. May peace, blessings and salutations be upon our Beloved Prophet Muhammed ﷺ.
Allah reminds us of the purpose of our creation in Surah 51, verse 56:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
“And I did not create jinn and mankind except to worship Me”
When we think of worship, we think of praying Salah, reading Quran and Dhikr. However we can be worshipping Allah in all that we do and not only in the acts we know to be Ibaadah. By us simply obeying and following the commandments of Allah and abstaining from what Allah has prohibited is one way of us worshipping Allah. We can worship Allah by beginning every activity with the name of Allah and clarifying our intention as seeking the pleasure and reward of Allah.
When it comes to physical acts of worship like our Salah, we tend to delay our Salah due to our busy schedules. However our Salah should be our number one priority. There was once a Sahabah who had an axe in his hand about to chop a piece of wood. He then heard the Athan, he immediately dropped the axe and proceeded to perform his Salah. In today’s time we would say “Let me finish this activity and then and I will go pray”. Look at the difference in the mentality.
We ask Allah to grant us the strength and ability to worship Allah in the manner which is due to Him. May Allah accept our efforts from us and grant us understanding In Sha Allah!
